About Me
So what do you want to know?!
Let’s start with some basics but excuse me if I waffle on…
I’m a 40 something year old mum to four delicious children (Henry – 14, Arthur – 11, Rose- 9 and Walter – 1)! I met my husband back in 2006 when I was visiting my sister up north – we’ve been together ever since and married since 2014. I lived up in Northumberland for a bit before dragging him back down to my roots in Norfolk!
I am the eldest of 7 so family has always been super important to me. When I was growing up I had what I thought was a pretty perfect childhood with a loving mum and dad and extended family down the road.
These relationships have certainly changed over the years but I’ve always been super passionate about spending time with my family and friends and always trying to organise things to look forward to! Even if they don’t want to!
I have a special love for all things Disney and being able to take my kids to the theme parks has been a dream! I’d love to show my children more of this world.
My favourite colour is pink. Pink and anything sparkly makes me happy! I’m a bit of an eighties music lover and and love music by Madonna, George Michael, Take That… Abba… I could go on.. I do love a sing and dance!
When I was little I always thought my dream job would be working with children or criminals. It turns out I made 4 beautiful mini humans that stole nothing but my heart. They can certainly push me to my limits but I wouldn’t have it any other way!
After I had Rose my husband said to me that if we continued spending money the way we were I would need to get a job!
Being a stay at home mum for so long was amazing and I really enjoyed educating my children through play. I didn’t really want to go out to work and wanted to find something I could do from home.
I was always searching online for different ways of learning through play and when Rose was around 7 months old I came across the concept of story stones.
Story stones are used in education and play as prompts for retelling stories with the child’s lead. The pictures on the stones can be random and lead to some wonderful imaginative play.
I decided this was a small business I could potentially create. My Story Stones Rock was born.
One last thing! I love mayonnaise!! And garlic and prawns and pea sandwiches!
